On Wednesday 15 July 2026 Archpriest Eugène Czapiuk, a priest of Saint Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Paris and chaplain of the Georges Pompidou European Hospital, fell asleep in the Lord.
His funeral took place on Friday 24 July at Saint Alexander Nevsky Cathedral: the Divine Liturgy at 9:30, followed by the funeral service. He was buried in the Russian cemetery of Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois.
Metropolitan Jean of Dubna, the clergy and the parishioners of the cathedral offer their heartfelt condolences to his wife, Matushka Irène, to his children and to all his loved ones, and remember them in their prayers. May the Lord receive His good and faithful servant into His Kingdom.
