The feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God at Saint Alexander Nevsky Cathedral on rue Daru

The vigil on the eve of the feast filled the church. The divine liturgy was presided over by Metropolitan Jean of Dubna together with the cathedral clergy; two choirs sang, one in Church Slavonic and one in French.

After the dismissal the office of the burial of the Shroud of the Mother of God was served, with a procession around the cathedral. Confessions were heard in two side chapels; the queues did not stop until the liturgy began.
